ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Sylvia Chen wore countless hand-me-downs as the youngest of three daughters, all throughout her childhood in Queens, New York. She didn't mind this time-tested tradition and finds it quite practical for her sons too. But she does enjoy adding extra sparkles to outfits with creative STEAM thinking, which includes making DIY costumes for her kids, often with fabric scraps, dollar-store finds, and LED lights.
